FURUNO Yukiharu
Furuno Yukiharu is a ceramicist who creates pieces glazed in various shades of blue. Despite studying business administration at university, he decided upon graduation to follow his love for ceramics instead. He experimented with the ash derived from a number of different plants to develop his glazes, and he continues to experiment with new methods to this day, the most recent being his ‘Royal Blue‘ series, which has won a number of awards. Although each shade has its own special qualities, blue as a whole represents ‘the calmness and beauty of the sky, ocean and the depths of the earth’.
