NAKAJIMA Yasumi II
The prolific Osaka-born artist Nakajima Mitsuo came from a family of metal craftsmen and adopted the name Yasumi II as his go, or art name, in order to distinguish himself from his father, the metal artist Nakajima Yasumi I. Yasumi II graduated from the National School of Industrial Art in Sendai in 1932, and went on to exhibit widely, including at the Nitten, where he won many prizes. He also exhibited with his son Nakajima Junji, the third generation, who is still active in the field of metal crafts today.
